House League

The Châteauguay Basketball Association (CBA) administrates competitive teams and House League teams. We could not possibly provide a successful program without the dedication of hundreds of volunteers. You, and our team officials, are central to the tremendous effort required to keep it all together.

Remember the children…they are our first priority. A smile at the end of a game, knowing that you have taught your team to succeed together and that your players are leaving the gym with a good feeling is worth much more than any win.

Our objectives continue to be:
• Ensuring all players enjoy the game
• Improving skill level of all players
• Improving skill level of coaches
• Fostering a Fair Play environment
• Basketball fun and development in the process is our number one priority

The CBA’s House League program is the basic and hence, most widely used program. House League runs from late October to Mid-April.
All practices and games (except for occasional inter-association tournaments) are held in gymnasiums of local Chateauguay schools. Practices are held on weekday evenings, with the earliest times going to our youngest players.

House League teams have one weeknight practice per week for a duration of 1.5 hours (Pre-Novice, Novice, Mini, Bantam, Midget/Juvenile) and one game on Saturdays. Our Pre-Novice category will practice once a week on a Saturday. If a player is not available on a certain day of the week, it must be advised during the registration process.

Here is the list of all House League divisional conveners for this season

Pre-Novice – Ages 5 to 6 years old
Novice– Ages 7 to 9 years old
Mini – Ages 10 to 11 years old
Bantam– Ages 12 to 14 years old
• Midget/Juvenile – Ages 15 to 17 years old

Divisional Year End playoffs take place in March.

Every year, we ask your support of our referees. For the first time this year, CBA games will have MMBRA referees. Coaches must work hard to control their reactions and those of their bench partners and players.

If you may have any further questions regarding our House League or anything that you would like us to let you know, feel free to contact us.

Best wishes for a fun filled exciting season!
